Experience I've been in the 3D/2D CAD industry for over 10 yrs. & also had the opportunity/exposure to work with several mainstream design platforms including Helix Design Systems to Land Desktop.
Question QUESTION: Two questions: my partner just bought autocad 2007 Lt and when he plots everything except the heavy title block lines, the drawing title text and the dimension ticks are extremely light. He uses aclt.ctb to print and checks "scale lineweights". Before he had autocad 2001 lt and worked fin. Why is this happening? Also, sometimes when I try to copy with base point or make a block of something and then try to insert it nothing happens and in the command line it says "pasteclip". What's going on?
ANSWER: Ensure your aclt.ctb plot style table (color & lineweight) correlates w/ colors used in your dim text & ticks. Modify ctb if necessary.
As far as the pasteclip issue, pls check w/ autodesk hotfix if not installed yet:
QUESTION: We changed from autocad 2001 lt (I think) from 2007 lt and the old computer was thrown away so we can not check the colors. Are you saying that once I press "plot" then I can set the color and weights? Also,I'll try hotfix for the pasting.
Answer Under the plot dialog box, u get the option to choose which *.ctb to use (in your case, aclt.ctb). Select aclt.ctb & click on edit. Review the colors & take note of their lineweights. These colors (& lineweights) corresponds with the object colors in your dwgs. So if your Title Text color is Red, check your aclt.ctb for the color 'red' to find the lineweight. Modify according to your company standards (keep in mind, all red objects will use that linewidth). Hope this helps!
