AutoCAD/ERROR MESSAGE

Question
Hello,

I am using AutoCAD 2006. I am working on drawing files that were originally created by someone else. Every time I try to import something from another drawing (copy/paste, for example), I get an error message that states: ARX ERROR eDUPLICATE KEY. I have no idea what that means. But it completely freezes my computer to the point where I have to Restart it. I lose everything. Needless to say, I am not copy/pasting anymore on this project. But it just happened to me again by trying to import a block. It's driving me mad. Any advice or words of wisdom?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi--
Who knows what the hell other people do to drawings, but here are some clues that MAY help lead you. Just fishing.
-- are you sure the files were not created in 2007 or 2008? They may not happily accept old objects.
Of course, when you are having problems like this, you should have Autosave set to 5 minutes, and manually save frequently, and always just before trying to insert blocks, etc, as you are doing.
-- I wonder if you tried WBLOCK -- sometimes that leaves problems behind.
