typically, these are all the main components you'll need:
motherboard, processor, cooling fans, memory, hard drive, video card, keyboard/mouse, monitor, chassis & an operating system (windows XP). additionally, modems, speakers, printers, cd/dvd burners... are also recommended. once, all components are purchased, all you have to do is assemble all together making sure you're always grounded (ESD) and then cross your fingers for the bios to go thru. good luck!
