AutoCAD/Import large excel files

Question
We need to import large excel files into Autocad; easiest if answer is for 2002LT, but also have 2005. running on win2K; excel files are appprox. 100Kb, so very hard to do 'import text', or 'paste special'.

Architects, high degree of experience except at this kind of import.

Answer
Sorry I sat on this one a day, but it is something I never personally do.
First, 2005 is better for sure at this, and I wonder why you don't upgrade at least the LT to 2007, considering the price (Dynamic blocks alone are worth it), but I dont know your work and the overall cost/benefit.  There is  a Table Object in 2005 onward, and the ability to handle Excel was improved.
I am going to send you where I looked, so you can compare your situation to others, as the problem is common. Some swear by some software they got from Dotsoft.com.
-- please  go to the Autodesk Discussion Group for  2005 and search for Excel posts, or post your question.__

You can also go to the LT group_________http://discussion.autodesk.com/forum.jspa?forumID=43_______
If you put _autocad excel__ into Google, you will also get a lot of info.
Sorry, sometimes the best I can do is point you to help -- and in this case I prefer you get it directly from others using Excel, so I do not pass wrong info.
Thanks
