AutoCAD/Installation of Autocad Architecture 2008 on a 64 bit machine

Question
I have updated my ADT 2004 to Autocad Architecture. Previously, ADT 2004 ran on my 64 bit machine with no problems. Now, my update that I just received will not load, I receive a dialog box that states that 2008 is 32 bit and will not run on a 64 bit machine. I assumed that since my Max 10 had options, my update to Arch.2008 would do the same. Wrong! Now, I will have to purchase another machine so that I can load Arch. 2008. I will no longer be able to link my drawings into the Max environment. I don't want to install a dual boot system. Is there a work around to this problem?

Thanks,
Sonny Martin

Answer
Hi -- well, I have only a vague idea what 64 bit means, lol, but let me try to help.
Since you have MAX and keep up with the latest software, I am kind of surprised you dont know about Autodesk's amazing discussion groups, with great expert and peer help.
I went to the ACA 2008 group, typed  < 64 > into the search bar, and got a page of posts, many of which, I am sure, will lead you to a solution.

And, gently, I hope you are reminded that you know better than to assume crazy sofware v8 will work on the same machine crazy software v7 did, with certainty, lacking tweaks.
Good luck, write back if those post dont help and/or sign up and post your questions, with details of your machine, and especially, any customization.
