AutoCAD/Labeling Curbs and labelling people who try to help

Question
QUESTION: I do a lot of Curb Labeling for streets & Parking lots. Often the linework is too short to add the text for the length, distance and/or radius, length & delta of angle. So I use the Tag Labels (and generate a Line & Curve chart from there) Often there are duplicate values for the tags. Everyone tells me that AutoCAD cannot replace the original dimension tag w/ an identical tag of the same value. (For instance: All the lines of the same bearing & distance would have the same label)  It seems to me that this is  something ACAD could do very well, but no one thinks ACAD has that ability. Do you know if AutoCAD can do this.

I've been certified in ACAD for over 10 years, but I've only been using LandDesktop for about 3. I use LandDesktop 3 (It site on ACAD 2002) Recently, we've purchase a copy of AutoDesk's Civil 3D, but I don't see that it has that ability either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Kevin

ANSWER: Hi Kevin --
Thanks for the 10 ratings, but the 5 rating on knowledge was a slam -- lowers my rating average, of which I try to be proud.

Since you asked an Interior Designer a question peculiar to a program about which I rightfully should have little or no knowledge, you might be more generous.
I did take considerable time to look up possible replies and find you links to get to where you want to go, (and knowing you were savvy, I was  not leaving you hanging. so I think a high rating for the pointers.
Please dont encourage me to click "this is outside my expertise" rather than try to help people.

BTW -- I just sat through a webcast of AutoCAD Archtectural 2008, and was glad to see that most of the Mumbo Jumbo is gone. I am not qualified to tell you whether the Civil 2007 is fine for you, but, again, you mentioned the LDD 3, which has to be very cumbersome, unless you only use it slightly.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Bob,

I apologize for that. I figured you guys got and answered so many questions that it wouldn't significantly affect your rating. I certainly realize it is unfair to judge you by something with which you are unfamiliar. (And I appreciate your attempt!) Is there any way I can take it back?

Thanks for the info on LDD 3. Fortunately, we're in the process of converting over to Civil 3D.

I am very grateful for pointing me in the direction of someone who specializes in my current area of interest.

Again, I apologize.

Answer
THANKS FOR THE APOLOGY
-- if you have a chance to rate the "followup question". pls rate it higher, or see if there is some other mechanism.
I dont get to see the rating process.

Good luck -- and be sure to run the new features workshop in that Civil, for both the civil part and the AutoCAD part, try out the new tricks, and get rid of all old customization that is not needed.  People marry their old methods, which is one reason I am for upgrading at least every 2 years, so you consider learning fluid.
The longer term the user, the more wasteful crap I see them doing, in general.
