Question
My hidden and dashed lines are now solid, when previewing a file for print.  Can you tell me what i need to do to see those hidden lines as hidden? FYI, I am using Autocad AD 1

Thanks
Eddie

I believe you are looking at a paper space viewport that is too small.  Especially if you are doing civil or architectural drafting.  It is a common complaint.  Often, when you first open paper space, you see a viewport that is 8.56" x 11" and its contents are shown to fit.  The viewport needs to be scaled up.  for example, if you are doing architectural work and you want to plot at 1/4" = 1'-0" you need to scale the viewport times 48.  Then double-click in the viewport and center the view on the part of the drawing you want centered for the page.  Then run the zoom command with 1XP as the option.  That zooms model space equal to paper space.  Now your lines that are hidden in model space should show up hidden in the layout tab as well.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
