AutoCAD/Making a pdf usable in cad

Question
I have a scanned page I need to use in autocad but can't make it into anything I can use in cad. The only thing I can do is copy and paste. If there is any way to make it into something usable great. If I have to work on it as is I can do it but will be much more work. Any suggestions would be great.

Answer
You can do it this way:  Bring it up in the Adobe reader.  Go to File; Select All and copy the selection to the clipboard with CTRL+C or Edit;Copy.
Then Start Windows Paint (Pbrush.exe).  Press CTRL+V or Edit Paste. to get the image in PBRUSH.  Use the rectangular or poly-sided edit tool to copy the part the image to clipboard that you want to keep.
Start a new Paint session and do not save the image.  Paste the new contents of the clipboard in the new session and save as a GIF or JPEG file.  Then use the IMAGE command to start the image manager and attach the image you just saved.  That image can be printed in AutoCAD very easily.  It works best if you use a large monitor with the best resolution setting.

Also, look for PDF2CAD on Google for a PDF to CAD converter.  It's not the greatest, but It's OK.

Better result can be achieved with Paint.net:

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
