AutoCAD/Middle button on Logitech Mouse

Question
I recently had to replace my hard drive and when I reloaded AutoCAD 2002 and my mouse driver I lost the ability to press the middle button and have the osnap menu pop up. I could do this prior to the re-installation.

I set my middle button to "middle button" in the mouse program, restart the pc and then open ACAD 2002 but it still will not pop up. Instead I get the pan command and hand symbol.

How can I change this back to the way I preferred it?

Answer
Darleen:
Would you believe that somebody just wrote in a few days ago and said, "I want my pans and zooms, and all I get is Osnaps!".  Go figure.  Anyway, I told him to set his MBUTTONPAN system variable to 1.  In your case, set it to 0.
My preference is 1, because if I want OSNAPS, I can still hold the shift key down and hit the right mouse button, and get the OSNAP menu that way.  You can't beat the speed of zooming and panning with an Intellimouse middle button/scroll wheel.  No more zoom commands.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
