AboutBob Expertise I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you.
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS

Question Our company manufacturers printed clothing. We print the fabric, then we cut it and sew it. In the design stage we decorate the pattern pieces and present it to the customer before production starts. Is there a software package that would be able to turn the 2d shapes (with design on them) and turn them into 3d clothing where customer would be able to see what the garment would look like. www.eye2eye.org is our website in case you need a better understanding.
Thanks
Mark
Answer HI -- OF COURSE THIS HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH AUTOCAD -- AND JUST A LITTLE WITH MY FIELD, INTERIOR DESIGN
I used to be in womens accessories, and have some fair guesses of how to help you, because of that.
For upholstery, one can apply it to objects via Photoshop, and, sometimes through design sofware. That does less good with your kind of work.
For you, I would say the problem is that the cut piece forming the front of a t-shirt does not look really like the finished item looks on the body (too wide, design looks as if it is proportioned wrong to layman eyes)
Suggestion A-- use Photoshop to morph or trim the image, or print the photo and trim off the sides, then scan.
Suggestion B-- pin it to a mannequin and photograph that ( a pinnable dress dummy, or even a bent piece of art board)
C-- tell customer to live with the approximation a flat piece gives (wont work for you, because I see you offer to let them have the illusion they know design, lol)
B is easier if you dont have someone great at computer graphics and images -- and is faster. Since you offer to do one unit jobs, you have to chose some way that takes 3 minutes or less or make no money, I would say.
Good luck -- and the best way to find out things is to ask not software experts, but people who do similar things to you, fabric suppliers, etc -- in your business.
