A PROBLEM WITH MY PLOTTER?

Answer
Peter:
I don't think it's your plotter.  I think it's your PC3 file or the Plotter driver.  It sounds to me like you want colo(u)r output on your print but the plotter is only printing black.  First: It's always best to create a PC3 file that references your plotter or printer.  You can do that with PLOTTERMANAGER.  Next: In the PC3 file, click on "Device and Document Settings".  Go directly to Custom Properties and click on that button.  If the Plotter or printer is Colo(u)r-capable, there should be a couple of buttons to click on tp choose between colo(u)r and black and white.  Make sure the Colo(u)r button is pressed.  Click on OK.  Then go to Graphics and make sure that Merge Control is set for "Lines Merge".  To save your settings, click on OK, and OK again.  It's a good idea to have two PC3 files for a color-capable printer.  One to print black for grayscale plots, and one for colo(u)r to print color plots.  Name them appropriately for easy recognition.  I hope this information was useful.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
