AutoCAD/Selection gone backwards!

Question
Bill, My AutoCAD selection has overnight, gone backwards.
Previously when I wanted to edit text I double clicked on it, now I have to go through modify menu.
I cannot use delete on my keyboard to erase any more.
When I double click on an object the modify properties box no longer pop’s up.
When I select an object it’s layer doesn’t display in the layer dropdown box.
When I want to select multiple objects I now have to hold down the shift key.
All these things and few more all happened at the same time so it seams there is some option I have inadvertently activated.
Is there some (probably obvious) option I have deactivated?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Luke:
change your PICKADD system variable to 1

Also, change your PICKFIRST system variable to 1.  Of course if this isn't set, your delete key will be useless.

In options, depending on the version you have, you may or may not have the option to enable and disable Windows Accelerator keys.  Check to see that you have Windows accelerator keys selected.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
