AutoCAD/Simple leaders

Question
Hi
Was wondering what variable or toggle option will make the "leader" command function like it did in releases 10 and 12. We are now using release 14 and would prefer not to go through all the steps it now takes with the annotation editor when you use the "leader" command. Basically we would like to be able to just create the leader in 3 picks with no option of text.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jay

Answer
Jay, the leader command although one or two more options, doesn't have to be run from within the DIM command anymore.  So you don't have to type DIM or DIM1 before you invoke the leader command.  Commands change a little each time we upgrade and sometimes more choices are good even though we have to take the time to look at the extra choices available.  But if it help you in your migration to R14 (which by the way I have no idea how you could have purchased a new R14 when Autodesk is no longer selling it.), I will send you a routine and a block that I used to use in R13 because I, too, did not like the leader command. :).  Please send your email address to:
bdeshawn@prodigy.net.  Is the any particual layer name you want the leader to be on, or do you want to preset your layer?

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
