Question
IN MODEL SPACE EVERYTHING HAS DIFFERENT COLORS TO IT BUT WHEN I AM IN A LAYOUT LOOKING AT MODEL SPACE THROUGH A VIEWPORT EVEYTHING IS SHOW WHITE BUT WHEN I SELECT IT IT SHOWS THE RIGHT PROPERTIES OF WHAT IT SHOULD BE.

Answer
Bill, several questions...
What type of object(s) you have in model space (3d or 2d entities)?
Does this happen everytime you create viewports (on this project/other projects)?
Under layout w/ your viewport ported to model space, what mode is it in when 'shademode' is invoked?
How about the type of graphics card you currently have installed (onboard, nvidia, ati, etc.)?...let me know?
