AutoCAD/Window wont print

Question
Bill,
I'm a tooling design engineer and I've been working with autocad for apx. 5 yrs. I'm using AutoCad 2005.
I've recently had a hard drive crash and had copy all my drawings back to the pc from our server.
BEFORE the crash.... I could draw something ANYWHERE on the screen, select plot - window, draw the window around what I wanted and print it.
NOW if I do this.... the window is predefined and nothing will print outside this window... I can redefine the window and give the command to print and I see the system go thru the motions of printing, I get a message from windows assuring me the print is complete with no errors but I GET NO PRINT!... nothing.... even place what I want to print inside of the space occupied by the predefined window and then redefine a new window around what I want to print...NOTHING works! The system wants to print the predefined window in it's entirety or nothing at all!
I've pored over the auotcad bible.. tried changing things in the Options/plotter settings... done all I can think of and still can't resolve this.... HELP!!!!! I need the feature to work as I use two different printers for different size drawings.... Minolta DI351 and a HP Deaskjet 1120c... Hope you can help.

Answer
Mark:
You really need somebody to sit down at your computer and help you with this one.  However, make sure you're creating a plot log (go to Options; Plot and Publish, and make sure one is being created.  Then send me the log so I can look at it to see if there are any errors reported there.  Are you in the U.S.?  bdeshawn@sterling.net

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
