Experience I've been in the 3D/2D CAD industry for over 10 yrs. & also had the opportunity/exposure to work with several mainstream design platforms including Helix Design Systems to Land Desktop.
Question i am doing mechanical engineering. i want to know will learning autocad worth for me( for mechanical engg.) , and in what way?
Answer A 2D drawing still has a lot of impact in the design industry since the move to 3D is very eminent nowadays. A lot of companies out there are still utilizing Autocad simply because there just no reason for them to go thru that transition. Besides, people are still producing products straignt from a 2d plot - whether verifying specs, dims, clearances, etc. Recently, the industry is also at an inclination into outsourcing services outside the country. Competition is high, it's ideal to make yourself available to at least a major 2D design platform. Hope this helps, let me know.
