Question
How can i bind a image in AutoCad 2005. Need to e-mail drawing and don't want to send image as seperate item but part of drawing.

Answer
Francois:

1.  Open the image in Internet Explorer
2.  Right-click on the image and select "Copy".
3.  In AutoCAD, in menu, select "Insert" then OLE Object, then Bitmap Image.  Windows paint will be launched.  In Windows Paint, Press Ctrl+V or use the menu to select "Edit" then Paste".  If the program asks if you want to resize the background, select "Yes".
4. Edit the bitmap as you wish using Windows Paint.
5. When finished, in Windows Paint, at the menu, select "File", then Exit & Return to (your drawing name here).  Your OLE object should now appear in AutoCAD.  Your object can be edited at any time by right clicking on it and selecting OLE then OPEN.

You can also create an OLE object from a file, but unless you want it constantly referenced like in the image manager, don't click on "Link".

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
