Hi J.B.

I enjoy building things around the house for myself or friends. My daughter needs a deck. I can draw it out on a piece of graph paper but I thought it might be fun to have a simple program that I could draw out the dimentions and draw in the joists etc and keep a list of materials. I bought a deck design program that is basically just design ideas. I was just wondering if you would have any ideas of a simple program that I could use not just for decks but also sheds, sunrooms etc.   Thanks for your time,

Jack, this is outside my expertise so i can't help you with that. I'm pretty sure that there are tools available. Just research product you're interested in & inquire users in news groups. I would like to say Autocad, but unfortunately this requires a high learning curve. If you ever take this path & have any technical questions, i'd be more than happy to help. Good luck!
