Question
I am trying to use the move command and Autocad is automatically copying the object at the same time as moving it. How may I correct this problem?

Thank you very much!

Answer
Hi -- It is hard for me to reply without your telling me which AutoCAD release you are using, and  how you are accessing the MOVE command (icon, pulldown menu, keyboard). It sounds as if there is some prior customization done on your AutoCAD -- is this possible.
What you describe should be the result of the Express Tool MOCORO (move, copy, rotate) or a lisp routine that someone linked, for instance, to the keyboard shortcut M.
Again, I have lot of guessing to do without the complete story.
Try accessing MOVE all ways - toolbar, menu, type M, type MOVE, and (what I normally do -- select object>right-click> Move) -- and see if you still get that result. Write back with all details if you do.

Five minutes later--

VERY TIRED -- just re-read your question. When you say AutoCAD is copying and moving -- there is some problem understanding you.
If there is one object where it always was, and one in a new spot, you are performing COPY, not MOVE, as the object never moved. IF you are getting two objects, one where you wanted it, and a second elsewhere, this is pretty strange.
