Answer
Daniel:
Therer is a big difference in AutoCAD between Thickness and Width.  Thickness is the distance in the Z axis that a line will act as a 3D solid and become extruded at the distance specified by the user as the lines is either created or edited.

Width talks about the width of the line as measured from one side (not one end) to the other.  Just so that you know that I know what I'm talking about, length is measured from one endpoint of the line to the other.  If what you really want is the line to print wider you can use colors to vary the width of the line.  Read up on the use of PC2 files and pen settings.  I don't have time to get into it this minute, because I'm going to work.

You can also vary the width of a line by converting it to a polyline with PEDIT.  Or you can just draw a polyline with the PLINE command.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
