AutoCAD/How to draw a line?

Question
What is the command you type in to get the length of line you want?

Answer
Hi -- I really do not feel good answering questions unless you provide your experience level, your field, and the release of AutoCAD you are using.
If you have 2006 or 2007, and have turned off Dyamic Input, you have missed seeing your own answer.
In 2000 on, keep POLAR or ORTHO on, begin LINE, drag in the direction you want, and type the distance.  (you have to type, for instance, <42 if the line is supposed to be at 42 degrees, not an angle set via POLAR.)
This is super super basic -- I recommend anyone asking a question like this read a good book, or take a class, because you will be stopped or go very slowly and create bad habits, if you do not learn properly.
Write back if I miss the point and can help more.

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
