Question
My dwg files are unreasonably big.
If I even delete all objects and purge the file, have no visible objects, have only 1 layer and 1 dimstyle I cannot get rid of, I still have empty file the size 3,338 KB. It shows me on the command line that I have 2 objects, but I cannot find them, I tried KILLDOTS application, it didn't help. I use AutoCAD 2000i,Windows XP.

Somtimes there are registered items imbeded in the autocad database. these typically acumulates if you use different cad platforms such as eagle point. In land desktop there's an option to purge these registry items via -purge command. unfortunately, this is not available in regular autocad. however, another work around to decrease your file size is to do wblock of the visible items in your screen. basically, you're going to be recreating a new drawing purging out all unreference entities...easy as that! hope this remedies your problem! let me know if you require add'l assistance...
