AutoCAD/dxfout file gets large

Question
I draw parts for cnc machine. When I dxfout they grow like 3 times the size of the dwg. What can I do to stop this? I'm using autocad 2002.

Answer
I communicated via email with Herb on this one.  I suggested that he check out the computers that are making the different size drawing files.  There could be a computer that is using a vertical product of AutoCAD that is loading up the drawing file with invisible proxy data, like wall styles, footing styles, door and window styles, etc.  I told him that ADT and Architectural have -AECPURGE.  I gave him a macro for a toolbar button that would work in Architectural.

Herb:
I'm checking into this.  There is no answer off the top of my head, so, this could take a while.  Can you tell me exactly how much everything is getting scaled?  That might give me a clue.

update 8-17-07:  Still no answers.  Most people haven't a clue as to what could be going on.  This is a problem that is almost unheard of.

8-19-07:  Some say there might possibly be an inches versus metric scaling issue, others say it could be the software that is reading the DXF.  If you send the DWG and the DXF to me at bdeshawn@sterling.net, I'll will check them out and see what I can find.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
