QuestionQUESTION: I have a drawing list and would like to send this information to a excel or word pad as text. this is not mtext just regular text and have several colums and a lot of rows. please advice if there is a way to get all this information in one verses one by one.
ANSWER: José:
I need to know what version of AutoCAD you are running. If you have EXPRESS TOOLS, there is a tool in there that will combine-convert TEXT into MTEXT. Then, you can copy to clip board and paste into an EXCEL spreadsheet cell. The EXPRESS TOOL command is TXT2MTXT.

QUESTION: Bill,
I'm using Acad 2008 and have some Aerial Photos that need to reference to base map into autocad. Tif files come with other files (aux, rrd and tfw) i think this files contain information to import the Tif files at correct scale and location. is there a way to import this Tif files at correct X,Y and Scale or do i need other software?
AnswerJosé:
You can put the image on the clipboard by getting as much of it on screen as you can and then hit the PrtScrn button. Then you can open PBRUSH (windows Paint). Paste the image in there and save it as a JPG file. Then use the image command to place the image and reference the file. You might even be able to use XATTACH nowadays to attach an image file. Or you can even "drag and drop" it. Anyway, once there, put it in the background with the draworder command. Then, you can move it so that a point in the image is common with a point in the drawing. Rotate and scale the image using that same basepoint and the Reference Option in each command. It may take a few tries, but eventually you should be able to get it to work to your satisfaction.
Let me know how it goes.
