AutoCAD/Why my hidden lines cannot be shown in layout?

Question
Dear Bob~ ^^
my question is why my hidden lines can be shown in model, but they cannot be shown in layout (plotting layout)? ^^ll (I have changed its "lts" <linetype scale> to be 24 in layout and regen it <cause I want my drawing to be 1/4" = 1'-0" scale>......but they (hidden lines) still show in solid line) I wonder if it is because I have some wrong settings in my "options".....

Besides, I don't know why sometimes my several blocks cannot be printed out in some places of my drawing, but they printed out in some other places of my drawing......

P.S. I am using autocad 2004

Thank you~ ^^

Answer
Hi Karen:
Did you check AutoCAD Help about the scale factor? It is a  good plan to read through the Help, and have a book nearby, when you have difficulty..
You have the scale factor backward -- you want the linetype scale in Model Space to be SMALLER,not bigger -- try 0.25 to start, then go as low as 1/24 (which is for 1/4" = 1', not 24) until you like what you see in the layout.
Blocks won't print if layer zero or defpoints are frozen, which some people do -- a bad habit from old releases. Be sure those layers, and the ones containing the blocks, are on in your viewport.
I hope this helps: the block problem could also be a defect in the block, so try creating one that gives you trouble  over again from the beginning, and see if that helps.
