Question
when i open up my TOOL Pallette and click on the "annotation" tab...this is where I find the keynote tool.  I right click on the "reference keynote w/ straight leader" tool and then click on "properties" and the properties dialog box comes up.  There is not a "scale" or "auxilary scale" area.  The closest to that is a "leader dimstyle" area, but I have tried changing that to other dimstyles and it still inserts at 96 with text at 9".  Can you think of any reason why I wouldn't have the "scale" or "auxilary scale" area in my properties dialog boxes? Again, I am using Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2005.

Thank you,

Mr. DeShawn,  I checked all the variable and they were already set to the setting Mr. Rollins had said to set them to.  This did not do work.  the keynotes and leader lines still come in at a scalefactor of 96 and text height of 9".  I have tried creating a ney "keynote" dimstyle and making that current with a scalefactor of 48 and it did no good...no matter what I set the dimstyle to or scale factor...it always inserts at 96 with txt of 9".

Question -
Hi, I am using Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2005 and I am learning to work with KEYNOTES by using the the TOOL PALETTES. The problem I am havingis that when I insert a keynote, it always inserts the leader line and text at a scale factor of 96, no matter what I have my LTSCALE set to or what DIMSTYLE I have picked.  I have searched HELP and have not been able to find anything on how to make a keynote insert in at the scale you need it to be at...can you plaese help me?

Answer -
Let me know if this works, so I can thank the responder on your behalf.

Check your insunits variable... set to 1
also check insunitsdefsource and insunitsdeftarget variables.

Andy Rollins seems determined.  Here is his response:

Try rt-clicking on the keynote symbol in the tool palett and pull up the
properties.  There should be a 'scale' field there... does it say 1?  or 96?
There should also be an 'auxilary scale'.. set that to 'none' or 'dimscale'.
We'll find the problem evenutally!

Well I'm guessing that it didn't have a scale or aux scale field because
it's not a block... it's more dim style driven.

I really shouldn't have stuck my nose into this.. I'm much more familiar
with LDT than I am with ADT.  (but I do have both)  It seems there's endless
places where 'scale' can be set.  A more obvious one would be the 'drawing
setup' pulldown in the 'format' pulldown.  Other than that... I'm out of
ideas.

I got some more help:

First, set your scale per the attached JPG; this will set the scaling of MOST of your annottations.  You should set this per you drawing use when it is created, i.e. plan @ 1/4", detail @ 1", sections @ 3/4", etc.

Second, choose a dimstyle that has the correct arrow and textstyle assignment; scale does not matter, the previous step will override the dimscale.  Hint, all my dimstyles have the same arrows and fonts; when I want something seldom used, I will create a tool and pull the dimst
yle from a source file so I do not clutter the DWT.

The Annotation Scale in the Drawing Setup menu does not affect this tool, leave it set to your default setting.

He also sent an image.  You can find it here:
