Answer
Brian:
This is a problem that often has to be picked apart item by item.  It usuually has to do with blocks.  Often blocks are made with their nested objects residing on layers that shouldn't even be a layer in a drawing.  Sometimes there are even blocks within blocks that should be exploded and have all their objects on layer "0".  It's especially difficult to automatically find all that stuff in AutoCAD LT because LT doesn't have support for LISP.  So more things have to be done manually, unfortunately.  Many people who have AutoCAD LT also purchase Toolkits for LT from www.drcauto.com.  Some of kits supply support for AutoLISP/Visual LISP and VBA.  I highly recommend drcauto.com for all those who have AutoCAD LT.  There are other applications out there such as SUPERPURGE at
http://www.manusoft.com/Software/SuperPurge/index.stm
that can help you with problems such as you're experiencing.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
