AutoCAD/line type problems

Question
hey man,
Thanks for the quick response.  I've tried what you sent me and it isn't working. The line is already a polyline, but it is a bunch of short runs with a slight turn at each intersection.  Each of those runs are too short to show a line type.  I'm trying to give it a line type so that i can identify it in a legend.  If you know anything else for me to try please let me know.  Thanks again.

-----Question-----
I have an area, outlining a flood zone, that is made up of many small lines.  When I give it a line type, it still looks primarily solid.  how can i make it one solid polyline to show the type?
-----Answer-----
You can use PEDIT to convert the lines to polylines and turn on linetype generation.  If you have EXPRESS TOOLS, You can use MPEDIT to do the same thing but for multiple polylines.

Answer
I have a feeling I know what's going on.  Please send the drawing to me at bdeshawn@sterling.net.  I will attempt to resolve the problem.

In the meantime, use Z0.LSP from my website and also try the flatten command on the polylines.  Also, try exploding the polylines to lines and then flattening them, and then rejoining them.

Perhaps you'll have the problem resolved before I return.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
