Question
What is the best way to save my ACAD file in a Microstation format ?   Also, I have an option to write a polyline file in Microstation format which is a txt file. How does that file really help ? I always receive complaints from Microstation users importing ACAD files. Will I ever have something so I won't hear them gripe.

Answer
Hi -- well, not a common question!
Of course, I am not a Microstation expert, and have only run across "how to get Microstation files INTO AutoCAD" before, but seldom. Of course, you cannot save in a Microstation format, but to an Autodesk format that Microstation can recognize. You fail to state the release of each software involved-- this is important to know.
I just entered "AUTOCAD INTO MICROSTATION" into Google on AOL, and got a number of articles and references to books, so if you do that, you should find a good answer. (I cant quote them here)
Last, if the people on Microstation were on the ball, they would tell you the answer, becuase they must face the problem constantly, I would imagine. Of course, they might be your customer, and you might want not to let on that you dont know it-- but usually it is best to ask. Again, you need to know which software versions each party has.
Good luck! The first article I opened from the search seemed to be fine.
