Question
Hi. Iam using AutoCAD 2000. I have a scanned image that I need to paste into an AutoCAD drawing. I do not want to be abl to modify the image at all, just be able to view it. My main problem is that I need to do this without creating a path back to its originl location because it is sitting in a temporary file. Do you have any suggestions? Is there a program that I can buy to make this work? It does not have to be for 2000 because I have access to other versions. Or am I simply asking for the impossible? Any help would be great.

Answer
Here's the trick, convert scanned image in *.bmp format & open it under Microsoft Paint program. From the pull down, click Edit/Select All, then click Edit/Copy. Switch to Autocad, click Edit/Paste & specify insertion point. This should embed the image w/out referencing it to a directory. Hope this helps, let me know!

Regards,
J. B. Borge
