AutoCAD/plot settings in AutoCAD R14

Question
I'm not sure if this is a programming question, but here goes.

Using AutoCad Architectural Desktop R14 on Windows NT.

CAD started acting funny the other day and wouldn't save anything (after saving fine all day). When I re-started, it was fine. Now it is asking for an authorization code and I have only 25 days left to get the code. (this is fine, my boss is working on finding his code) My problem now is that I am trying to print to file using the printer we have always used and all my printer settings are gone. I only have the default printer available. When I try to select the printer that we used (control panel, add printer, Hewlett Packard HP-GL/2 Plotter.) The HP does not show up in CAD, and yes, I re-started to be sure. I tried setting up the plotter in CAD, but can't seem to get the same plotter as is listed in my add printer settings.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Answer
Hi -- sounds like symptoms calling for a re-install-simple answer-- plus defrag, etc, and note anything else you have recently installed.
Now the editorial comment: Honest, no one has asked an ADT1 question, and I thought no one in the world was still using it. I can't blame you, as you are an employee, but I wonder why your boss would pay money to people to use that rudimentary version of ADT, when they could work twice as fast on new software.
In the event your firm is one which is really just using the straight AutoCAD part, R14, I know many, many thousands do, as it is serviceable, if rather creaky at age 7. NT is also past its day: I'll bet your boss ain't free with raises, either. Good luck!
