AutoCAD/printing text

Question
all of my bold fonts are printing as outlines only (arial, etc.)  this happens on all drawings, but only on my computer (the same drawings print fine on other computers to the same printers)  I have already reloaded the shx files, and that didn't fix it.  any ideas?  I am on autocad 3.3

Answer
Arial is a true-type font (TTF).  The SHX files have nothing to do with TTF fonts.  However, they do usually respond well to the TEXTFILL system variable.  Set TEXTFILL to 1.  By the way.  I think you are on Architectural Desktop 3.3, right?  That would be the equivalent of AutoCAD 2003 with AEC objects.  Another thing that can cause TEXT to appear unfilled is SHADEMODE.  If the SHADEMODE command is run and the 3D wireframe or Hidden option is used, the text will appear as outlines.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
