AutoCAD/purging

Question
I am trying to reduce the size of an architectural 2 AutoCAD file to allow me to save it to a diskette.  I purged the file of all un-used blocks, layers, line types, etc., but still it does not purge most of these items. Eighty five percent of the blocks, layers, etc., are not being in the drawing; they were inserted at one time but were later deleted.  Do you have any suggestions on how purge these items?  I did copy my drawing to a new file and it did reduce the file by 50 percent, but if there is a way to purge these items I would like to know.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Answer
Sorry, you have done as much as I would do. Frankly, I have never had an ADT file fit on  a diskette and wonder why you would want to do that -- or, I guess you lack a CD burner. If you want to have it plotted somewhere, email them a plot file, or put THAT on a diskette; if it is to show people your work, use a CD to look current.
Good luck!

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
