AutoCAD/scaling a drawing

Question
I use autocad 2000, I've been trying to scale a drawing from 1/4" = 1'-0" to what they call 1 to 1. What exactly does that mean and how do I do this task. I try to scale it but it keeps coming out as 3" = 1'-0" when I print it. My system is set up to draw in 1/4" = 1'-0" and then we scale it to make larger scales but never had this problem before.

Answer
Nick,

All of your object entities in model space should always be drawn in 12" = 1' scale (1:1). That way you'll have the flexibility of rescaling the
'VIEW' instead (not the actuall objects), in paper space (Layout) via viewports. Hope this helps, let me know!
