Question
first of all, I am a total novice- but have worked with other (easier CAD programs)Question:
I am trying to set up the drawing limits on a standard 24" by 36" architectural drawing template on the 06 version of autoCAD. I want a scale of 1" = 1', or 1/12.
How? or am I approaching this all wrong
thanks, ....Jo

Answer
Create all your objects in model space at 1:1 scale. Then, switch to your 'Layout' tab & specify proper paper size, plotter, etc. Use the 'vports' command to insert a single viewport. Enable your viewports toolbar by right clicking on any of the existing toolbar (or icons) & then select 'Viewports'. Double click inside of the new viewport (rectangle) you created, & from the 'Viewport' toolbar select scaling factor 1"=1'. Double click outside the viewport. Hope this helps!
