AutoCAD/system variables

Question
earlier today i was able to double click objects in my drawing and the appropriate dialogue editor would come up (ie, multitext editor for multitext and hatch dialogue for hatchediting) however at some point during the day i must have inadvertently changed a system variable and now when i double click on an item nothing happens.  i have checked the "dblclkedit" variable and it is set to "on" yet i am still not able to double click edit.  is there another variable in the system that controls double click editing that i am missing.

thanks.

Answer
Sorry I took so long to answer.  I thought I had already answered this one.  I think I remembere telling you to reboot the machine and then get back to me.  Sometimes that's all it takes.  However, there is another system variable that can mess things up.  That is PICKFIRST.  If PICKFIRST is set to 0, DBLCLKEDIT won't work.  Make sure PICKFIRST is set to 1.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
