Question
bob, my qustion is very simple, i am worknig in autocad mechanical 2007,i am on to design change for a client, and i got lot of file to work on and same procedure for all , so to fasten up my process i want to use macros, i am very new to macros, so can you tell me how to write a macro. i need 2 type, one to plot files to dwf in 1:1 scale and other one to save a dwg file down to autocad 2004 format. please help me on this.

Answer
Hi-- simple to ask, some work to answer, assuming one uses macros. I dont, and I think they are overrated, but important sometimes.
In your case
1- just set a dwf plotter as default while you are in this period with the client -- layouts plot at 1:1 anyhow.
2- unless you have 100 files, isnt SAVEAS in the file menu quicker than stopping to write a macro?
NOT EVERYONE WOULD AGREE WITH ME.
My take is that there is a lot to learn in Mechanical, so why stop to learn Macros, until you get to a need that really saves several clicks?  Here, you ask for macros to replace very simple operations.
If this does not help, sorry, read a chapter of a good book and learn.

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
