QuestionI have an Acura integra rs and the clutch is going out. I have looked online
and called places and so far the best deal is a fenco dynapak for 84.99 comes
with:
DynaPak Features:
All OE Manufactured components
Branded OE grade friction
Pre-damper discs supplied as required
Ductile iron pressure plates as required
Premium quality self-aligning bearings
Specifications for every part offered
100% testing philosophy
QS9000/ISO9002 Certified process
Is this all I would need plus the fly wheel for 34.99 or is there more. No one
at the stores is positive and shops want to do the work so they won't give me
a straight answer. My father and I will be handling the work ourselves but I
don't want to open it up and realize that I needed a clutch master cylinder, or
slave thingy. Hope you can help. I also was curious as to which book is better
the chiltons or haynes. Thank you for your help.
AnswerThe manuals are about the same but different models have more info.I prefer the haynes. You can change the slave cylinder if you think its time to replace it and best way to tell is if its weeping fluid or if the car has a lot of miles. The master cylinder should be ok and only change it if you are losing pressure or fluid.Look up under the pedal inside the car to see any leaks but usually they are ok.The clutch kit you need will include..friction plate, throw out bearing, pressure plate, pilot bearing. The flywheel i assume you mean the engine flywheel? No need to change it unless specified to do so with this clutch or if its badly scored. While youre in the clutch you might want to change the rear oil seal by removing the flywheel.I do as a rule.
