Question
hi i have a 1991 ford sho i just got its been hit in the front right corner hard enough to ruin the radiator but thats it. but it should still run and it does if you spray gas in the intake. the fuel pump does not come on when the key is turned and the switch has been reset could it be the ccrm and that includes fuel pump relay i think or could it be the pcm. also how could you bypass them to see if the fuel pump works?

Answer
Vaughn,
This is WAY out of my realm of expertise. I'm a Parts Specialist, NOT A TECH. I will offer this to you, however.
You will have to drop the tank to get to the pump. Take a 20' wire and put clamps on both ends. Clip one end to the + side of the battery and find the positive line going to the pump. Find the negative line going to the pump and run a jumper from that to the frame. Attach the positive end to the pump and see if it runs. KEEP THIS TEST AWAY FROM THE GAS TANK TO AVIOD IGNITING THE GAS IN THE TANK!!!
A relay is nothing but an electromagnitcal device. NORMALLY a crash will not affect one unless obviously damaged. I would look for a wiring problem causing power not to get to the pump.
Good luck and I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Heretofore, I will NOT answer any mechanical question. I am not qualified and can only offer speculations. You are better served by others that are true Techs. With that being said, please only ask about parts and locating obsolete Auto Parts. Thank you. I have the ability to locate quite a few mechanical parts for American made vehicles fron the 1900`s to present. Some are OEM and some are aftermarket. This would include engine, brake and chassis parts. Body parts and trim are VERY difficult to find but you may inquire. If you need assistance in repair, I have illustrated books for major American manufacturers that show some illustrations BEFORE 1974. If needed, I can supply repair manuals for your specific vehicle. PLEASE REMEBER I'M A PARTS SPECIALIST, NOT A TECH!! Thank you.. Skip
