Question
Hello:

General question.  If you took this car under the assumption that the engine was in perfect working order and drained the radiator fluid out completely then started the car and drove it for 1/2 to 1 mile, would that cause the car's engine to "sieze" or "blow"? Again, assuming everything else regarding the engine is in perfect working order, would the engine "sieze" or "blow"?    I know this is a very general question without a lot of information but I am looking for a "general" answer.

Thanks,

Paul

Answer
If you drive with no coolant, the car will overheat and can sieze.Oil alone will not stop the engine from overheating. The car can run with no coolant for a short period although its not recommended. If the temp doesnt go into the red it may be ok.1/2 mile sounds not too far.It will certainly sieze  with no oil.
