Question Hi, I have just bought a 1994 Ford Probe and at first was running like a dream. Then it just kept cutting out on me even though it would start up almost immediately. A mate said it could be something to do with one of the sensors and I then realised that the screen wash fluid warning light had come on that very morning. I have now topped up the fluid and the engine is not cutting out, surely this cannot be what was causing the problem???
Answer No,the screen wash wont do that.Coincidence i think. Its more likely to be an engine sensor but it may also be the EGR valve or position sensor.Intermittent problems like this are a wait and see so you need to have the car looked at when it does it again.I am sure it will.A fault like this is almost impossible to find if the car is running ok.There are so many components to look at.
general auto repair, japanese, bmw, mercedes, mini cooper 1960/2009,general british cars, ford.I DO NOT work on automatic transmissions.Manual transissions i install clutches only. Many people ask me to diagnose noises from their cars, unfortunately i cannot do this unless i hear it.As you appreciate, vehicles can and will make a variety of noises.I DONT UPGRADE or fit aftermarket performace kits, parts, chips, only replacement parts.
