Question
hi, we replaced the starter in a 94 kia sephia, automatic, Bare Bones Model, no power options. After we replaced the starter and hooked up the battery, turned the ignition on, the car tried to turn over, then everything went off, and the horn and exterior lights started flashing on and off. Couldn't get them to stop, had to disconnect the battery??? (This car is not equipped with any remote entry just key entry.)

Answer
There may be a alarm over ride button under the dash but you will need to check the handbook. It may originally have had a key fob alarm and when the battery is disconected,it activates this alarm even though it hasnt been used in a long time.It will tell you in your hand book or ask your dealer but with many cars, there is always a button to disable this feature.Look for a small electrical box under the dash.Near the drivers feet. Some may be under the hood also.Did you try opening and closing the doors with the key ?
