Question
Hi there,
Lately with my  97' maxima when I attempt to start it, the motor turns but will not start Until I pump the gas. Once it is running it runs like a top. I have replaced the starter to no avail I am wondering where is the next place I should go to fix it.
Thanks.

Answer
You didnt say how many miles but a general tune up may help.Change the fuel filter too and look at the cap and rotor,,(if fitted),,high mileage is better replacing both.Plugs and air filter will help too,O2 senors may need done but depends on the mileage like over 60 000,usually they are changed about then. You shouldnt have to pump the pedal to start as its fuel injected so im thinking its the fuel filter that needs changed.Another reason may be a faulty throttle position sensor but your check engine will let you know when it goes wrong.
