AnswerCleve,
First let me tell you that a Navigator is made by Lincoln. The only reason I say this is if you go to your local parts store and find some kid that doesn't know a spark plug from an oil filter, and you will, when he goes to the computer, and he will, will not be able to find your vehicle. Most parts chains, in order to sell parts cheap, are hiring people that, as I said, don't have a clue. I've been doing this 32 years and consider myself a Parts Specialist. My catalog library is over 90' long and goes back into the early 1900's. With that being said, lets look at your problem. Please remember, I'm NOT a Mechanic or Tech but have some ideas about your question.
I take it your truck has an Air Ride Self Leveling system on it, correct? It has lost Air Pressure, correct? Can you determine if the compressor works? Is the fuse good? I haven't looked but there could be an Air Compressor Relay that may be bad. IF the compressor is working, you must have a leak. First I would inspect all the lines to see if you can find an obvious problem. IF the compressor works, and from what you have said, I guess it doesn't, you can take liquid dishwasher soap and make a solution. With a small paint brush, you can brush all the fittings and look for bubbles. The soap will make the bubbles.
I'm not trying to be vague here but there are quite a few things that could cause your problem. From what you have said, I think the problem is in the compressor area but you are the one looking at the vehicle.
Please keep in touch and let me know what you find. Again, as I said, I'm a Parts guy, NOT a tech but I think I can help you once we have more information. There is a company that rebuilds components for your truck. You don't always have to go back to Lincoln. Thank you for your question and let me know...!!
