Question
I have a 1988 Toyota Camry.   Recently the overdrive button won't stick.   If I hold in the overdrive button manually, the O/D off light goes off, but if you let it go, it won't stick.
Does this sound like the button is just broken, or some bigger problem?  Is there a way to swap out the button?

Answer
If the o/d works when you hold it in,then the button is probably worn out.Test the over drive is working ok and the button can be replaced with one from the dealer or junk yard they are not too hard to change. There are 2 small screws on either side of the shifter and then it pulls off the stick.Remove carefully as there are wires under the shift/button.
