My 2000 Ford Explore rear door locks would not unlock. All the other doors unlocked but the rear stayed locked. The next day it started working ok. I know it should have a (1) wire circuit for all locks. My question is, has there been any report problems with this and if not I would assume there could be a circuit braking down in the wire harness going from the door frame to the door at the hinge area. Or any other posible problems. Any feed back will be appreciated. Thanks, Henry

I havnt heard of any recalls on this as of yet.As for why this happened ,i believe it could be in the wiring or possibly the relay that operates the doors ,all 4,do you have a 2wd or 4wd.sport or which model is it so i can do more research on this for you.I need to know if you have rear airbags .The ones on the side.
AnswerI havnt seen any more reports on this so you will need to monitor the doors and if it happens again take it to a Ford repair shop. The door lock mechanism is very complex to try finding exactly which relay or circuit it is.Tracing the wires back from the door involves a lot of removal and its better to know exactly where the relay or fuse is located.Did you use the key in the door or the hand held button,if you used the remote i would maybe check this first and make sure the battery isnt going out.
