Question
Sean, thank you for all your help thus far. I just came back from looking at it. I have not driven it yet, however, I did fill it with coolant and let it run for about 15 minutes. The temp gauge took about 5 minutes to move but then stayed at the mid-point level were the owner says it always is. The trivial point is the heat never got hot or even warm. Could it be (fingers crossed) the thermostat which he had replaced approx. 2 mos. ago?

Answer
Heater and system may need bled.It may have air in the system if i remember correctly this system needs to be bled. There will be a bleed nipple on the thermostat housing and im thinking this is why it heated because the previous owner didnt bleed it.Its pretty simple to do.Loosen the bleeder with engine warm and as soon as coolant runs out with no air bubbles it is ok.You will get heat if done properly.
