Question
i NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TAKE OUT THE AIR BAG OF MY 1995 GMC JIMMY TO REPAIR THE IGNITION SWITCH.........

Answer
I wouldnt recommend this if you have never had experience with SRS systems. It can be dangerous but if you must well its pretty simple.Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 5 minutes for the system to disarm. At the rear of the steering wheel there will be 2 screws thats between the wheel and dash.Remove these and the airbag should come out.The next bit is tricky, the wiring.Be very careful as the wire is small and fragile.Make sure the wheel is straight and trace this wire to under the steering coulumn it will have a plug.Pull it out and set the airbag well away from the vehicle somewhere safe. The ignition should be easy to get at.Your best bet is the haynes manual and for $20 is well worth it.It will detail all you need to do this and would be a good idea if youre going to keep this car.DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY UNTIL EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED AGAIN.If youre not sure, dont attempt this.Airbags can deploy if handled roughly or dropped. They are set off by a small electronic charge and even static can do this.
