Automotive/Hard to start

Question
I have a promblem starting my 1988 chevy silerado. When i try to start it starts real slow with a fully charged battery , my vacuum booster starts to smoke and my brake lines get hot this happens only when my starter is engaged. not when its actually starts.

Answer
This sounds like a bad short from the starter.I would remove the starter immediately and have it inspected.DO NOT try to run the car as this is a fire risk from what you say with the brake lines heating up.It sounds like wiring from the starter is earthing around the brake lines somewhere. Also check all wiring from the starter to the ignition and overall it would be better to have a electrician look at it.This car could catch fire and once the wire loom gets shorted it is like a chain reaction which will burn your wiring completely.
