Question
Hi Sean,
i currently own a Honda Accord 96 model... it has 228 ,000 km's on it, a automatic and everything works fine but there is problems when accelerating as a result sometimes the car shakes and doesn't move when driving for long periods any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
thank you

Answer
I dont do any work on automatic transmissions these days but from what you say it sounds like the tranny is due a major service or needs overhauled. There are many reasons for the shudder such as transmission mount, torque converter, bearings, driveshafts, its possible too that the ATF is overheating so it may be a coolant problem with the ATF flow to the radiator. Most common cause for no drive is a burnt clutch or clutch packs in the tranny.Worn bands, bad governor, low pump pressure.I would take it to a shop as many have free diagnostics and will look at it for you.
